We’re partnering with BREAD Lab to help their research into whether exercise-based video games could help kids with ADHD stay active and healthy. You could take part as we seek participants!

We’re looking for parents of kids aged 7-12 to complete an online survey so we can get your views on effective exercise options for your child, and your views on exercise video games. You can also enter a prize draw for participating!

We’re also looking for families to participate in playtesting. If your child is aged 7-11 and has ADHD, they could come to the play lab at Kingston University London to play some exercise games and discuss their experiences with the games… and earn a £20 Amazon voucher in the process! This activity will help the research team how to develop an ideal video game exercise program to support the health of kids with ADHD. Click here for more information and a link to sign up.

ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a condition that can affect people’s behaviour. It can cause problems with concentration and focusing, as well as with hyperactivity and impulsiveness. Parents of kids with ADHD are advised to make sure their child gets plenty of physical activity during the day. Research also shows that exercise can help with ADHD symptoms. We want to see if exercise video games can be an effective way of keeping kids with ADHD active.

BREAD Lab (the Brain Resilience, Exercise, and Development Lab) at Kingston University studies neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health conditions, and seeks lifestyle and preventative strategies to address these conditions. The lab is led by Dr Stone Hsieh, whose research includes how we can use evidence-based behaviour interventions, such as exercise and sports, to change/reduce clinical symptoms of ADHD.
